February and March 2017 Play! by Sephora Box Reviews

I always enjoy getting my Play! by Sephora boxes in the mail - one little surprise just for me every month.  And while I take photos to share, I am guilty about not sharing them as soon as I should.

The satin bag in February's box was beautiful.  It very much reminded me of my grandmother's pink satin pillow case.  Did anyone else have a grandmother that slept on a satin pillow case?

I always appreciate the Play! by Sephora cards that give me a few bonus points when shopping.  As a makeup artist, I am always having to replenish makeup for my kit.

The Nars Velvet Lip Glide in Bound was not a gloss as I had suspected, but it was a matte cream lipstick.  The color is a beautiful pink/plum and I used it on one of my clients who really liked the look with her makeup.  As an MUA, I don't like products in containers with sponge tip applicators, as it's too hard to dispense the product.  But, for the average consumer, I would recommend this lipstick.

I just added the Sephora Lash Craft mascara to my personal stash to try - I added it to my personal stash and have been using it regularly.

I actually need to try a new eye cream, but the Origins Gin Zing product is for puffiness, which I don't usually have a problem with.

The Clinique Pep-Start is a facial moisturizer safe for all skin types.  I have not given this one a try yet.

I intend to use the Too Faced Lip Injection as a giveaway item, but it would be a beautiful layering product, so I am not sure if I will keep it for myself or throw it in my client makeup kit.

The Marc Jacobs Divine Decadence Fragrance is not one I will be using.  The scent is too woody and reminds of a man's cologne.  I will be adding this to the giveaway stash.

The March Play! by Sephora box had some interesting items.

The Makeup Forever Artist Shadow in 544 Pink Granite is a beautiful shade of taupe with a pink undertone.  I am a fan of MUFE's shadows and I actually have this same color in my personal makeup kit and like it, so this one is headed to my business makeup kit.

The Glamglow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer will be added to my giveaway stash.  Those of us who live here in Houston, TX are naturally illuminated thanks to our super humid climate.  In the winter months, I can sometimes get by wearing an illuminator, but since our weather has warmed up, I find that I need to stick with regular products.  Many of my clients are so oily, they naturally illuminate too.

As far as the Algenist REVEAL Concentrated Lumizing drops in Pearl are concerned, I think my thoughts are the same as above.  I am sure the products aren't anything alike, I'm just not convinced I need to glow so much.

I will be keeping the Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast.  A hairspray that promises to make hair appear fuller-looking has to be put to the test on my super fine hair.  I like this spray.  It does not make your hair too stiff and after a few uses, I've not seen any break outs on my face, which is a negative consequence I experience with far too many styling products.  I can't say I see more volume, but I really like how it kept my curls in place, but they were able to loosen up on their own without falling out completely.

The Benefit Watts Up! Creme to Powder Highlighter will be a good gift for my giveaway stash too.

I always love the packaging of the Atelier Colognes in these Play! boxes.  The samplers always come packaged with a post card to describe the scent's origins.  This month the scent was Divine Clementine California and I really enjoy wearing it.  With a majority of citrus notes, this fragrance feels light and refreshing.
