Real Bridal Client Portraits at The Oak Atelier

Meet Allison.  Allison is a beautiful fall bride who reached out to me to do her bridal portrait makeup because her makeup artist was on maternity leave.  

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Allison, and her mom, and while I am sad that I was not able to participate in her wedding day, these gorgeous bridal portraits shared  with me by Rachel Lynn Photography taken at The Oak Atelier in Conroe are so dreamy, I had to share them with you!

Allison wanted a dramatic eye look and when I discovered she was not afraid to wear lip color, I created a custom cranberry hue, just for her!  I love how it plays off of her red florals, don't you?

I know some brides skip the bridal portraits, but you can tell from the photos, Allison 

enjoyed seeing herself in her dress and trying it out for a test run before the big day!

All of Allison's outdoor bridal portraits remind me of a fairytale.  

There is definitely something magical about golden hour photography!

The Springs in Katy Real Wedding

Meet Michelle.  She was my July 2021 bride and her wedding at The Springs Weddings and Events Venue in Katy, TX.  I can't tell you how precious this bride is.  Her heart loves Jesus and it showed throughout the entire wedding day!  Her selection of the bridal party, down to every small detail had such sweet and personal meaning and I know the team at NXT LVL Weddings & Events made those details shine!

Are First Look Photos Worth The Time on Wedding Day?

When I ask brides if they will be taking first look photos, many say they are undecided.  

Seeing first look photos are some of my favorite photos that brides and photographers share.

The His and Hers Foto team captured these great first look photos of one of my brides last year. Having 2 photographers capture the moment is really special!

Real Montgomery County Texas Christmas Wedding

 It's almost Christmas and I am reminiscing about this beautiful Christmas wedding that I did back in 2013.  Time sure does fly by, but I will never forget this day or this lovely client!

This Montgomery County venue has since been reverted back to a private family home, but I love the red roses and the bride's, Sophie's, bright red lips!  So many of my makeup clients are afraid of lipstick and few are bold enough to wear bright red, but this bride wears red so well!

The amazing photographers are no longer in the photography biz, but I have to give a shout out to the talented Martha and Brent Shumaker team who made captured these great photos for me.

Tatcha Lipstick Trio Review

In my 2nd Tatcha order (click here to see the products I ordered and reviewed), I had included the Lip Blossom Lipstick Trio Set - a complete impulse purchase because I had stumbled across their friends and family sale.  I am trying to replace my bag of lipsticks with fresh ones.  I am a sucker for a set of lipsticks.

I realized I had not received my lipstick trio in the box and customer sent a replacement ASAP with no questions asked.

When this box of lipsticks arrived, I was quite confused, as the shipping box was much larger than my previous order.  And it was heavy.  I only asked for the lipstick set I had ordered.  Surely, this was not the entire previous product order?

I opened the shipping box (bottom left photo above), discovered my 3 promised sample products, and discovered the beautiful white box with purple floral ribbon.

This is definitely a gift-worthy product and presentation!

No, Tatcha, had only sent me lipsticks and this was the set.  3 full sizes boxes of individual lipsticks. I have never owned heavier lipsticks!

Some people had stated that these lipstick tubes were like pieces of jewelry.  They are very nice and heavy.  The way the lipsticks are molded, they have a unique diamond pattern.

Kyoto Red is a beautiful red lipstick.  On my lips, it has a tendency to turn into a cool red (that is my lip print above). I will enjoy wearing this shade for a long time.  It is a matte lipstick and I wish it had more of a sheen to it, but a gloss will take care of that.

Twilight is described as a cherry blossom lipstick.  It went on as a very pale dusty blush shade.  I usually go for something brighter, but this is a very nice shade for super casual days around the house.  It will probably layer on top of another color nicely too.  I would classify it as a nude lipstick.

Sunrise is described as a plum blossom shade. It is a beautiful plum hue.  This is a great anytime color and I will wear it most any time I head out of the door.  This really is my favorite lipstick of the 3 of them.  It is not as matte as the Kyoto Red lipstick and it does brighten my lips more than the Twilight shade.

The reviews I have seen on-line say this is a really creamy lipstick and lasts a long time.

I found the colors are long-lasting. However, these lipsticks are not hydrating in-spite of the silk formula. I really do need a rich and hydrating lipstick.

I am glad a didn't pay full price for this set, but they are very nice lipsticks and I will use them. 

This would be a great gift for any gal who loves lipstick.  The packaging is very impressive and no wrapping is required. You can have confidence in shipping as a gift, because none of the Tatcha packing lists include pricing information!  (Sadly, it appears the lipstick trio sets are gone, but they still feature lipsticks on their website.)

Real Galveston Bride and Wedding | Makeup by Keri Ann the Flying MUA

 

This beautiful bride's wedding in Galveston, TX was documented on camera by the fabulous His & Hers Foto team, who graciously shared their photos with me and allowed me to share them with you! 

You have to see all of the vibrant details of this wedding!  

While I was only there for the "beautifying" part of this special day, this couple appeared to have a fantastic wedding day from the photos.  His & Hers Foto captured such amazing First Look photos of this bride and her groom, I might have to share those in a separate blog post.

Makeup by Keri Ann did the makeup, of course, but Southern Roots Boutique and Salon gets all the credit for the hair!

The Matron of Honor's pink hair was too much fun!  I wanted to enhance her brows with a touch of pink too, but wedding day was not the day to start experimenting or creating a whole new brow look.

This bridal party was so nice to work with!
